Triumphant return of Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight - Mosey - 08-31-2026 Newly independent Double Fine have just launched their Kickstarter for a fresh round of Amnesia Fortnight. If you don't know the studio, they're responsible for Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. (And were founded by LucasArts alum Tim Schafer.) They haven't done this in a while. Essentially, the entire team takes two weeks off whatever they're working on for an in-house game jam, where everyone can pitch projects. Four of those pitches will be made into prototypes and the whole process will be documented by regular video updates. This has resulted in some wonderful games over the years. Plus, it's just a neat way to support the studio adjust to post-Microsoft life. Here's the link! Amnesia Fortnight 2026 RE: Triumphant return of Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight - srnickolas - 09-03-2026 That's a very clever and original campaign. Some of the games are just hilarious, "lesbian sled death" lol RE: Triumphant return of Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight - Dryade - 09-04-2026 There isn't a single point and click adventure game proposal in the list. T_T Well there is "Bard Crawl" which is "an online cooperative adventure game where a bar crawl with up to three of your friends shifts into a fantasy dungeon crawler" whatever that's supposed to mean LMAO. Also "Plot Armor" seems like an interesting idea and is described like a a VN/RPG hybrid. But I agree no "true" adventures here which is wild given the company roots. I think the games are more akin to experimental though, with the designers combining various gameplay concepts and ideas to express themseves and have some fun RE: Triumphant return of Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight - Mosey - 09-04-2026 I'd very much love another Double Fine adventure game but given the delicate time of re-establishing themselves as independent, perhaps they're looking for something with broader appeal. But there's a lot of creativity in these pitches and once the full team comes onboard, I can't wait to see how they shape up! |
