Personally though I am not a fan of explicit scenes just for the sake of them and prefer more elaborate Visual Novels

Fair enough, it's definitely not a game for everyone.

I did play another freeware game With Our Eyes Wide Open which won first place in the visuals category in the $108 Adventure Game Challenge thanks to those gorgeous Ben Chandler backgrounds. Unfortunately, it feels unfinished and the dev has since removed the download link from the itch page because of this. Hopefully they get a chance to revisit it at some point, because it does show promise.
