I choose The Dig. The cover has a cinematic to it, and one that would convince me to buy a theater ticket to see it. Come to think of it, wasn't it first proposed as a movie? I vaguely remember a conversation about it years ago.

The Dig is a stunning cover with wonderful composition and use of light/dark. Really gives you a sense of a foreboding adventure ahead. CoMI is colourful and fun and I like it, but The Dig easily wins here for me.
Man, I'm really surprised how The Dig is running away with this. I *like* the game, but the cover art is just people...digging. It looks pro in an 80's Hard Science Fiction Novel sort of way, but it doesn't do nearly as much as Curse of Monkey Island. At least, not for me.
CMI: My favorite version of Guybrush battling my favorite version of LeChuck (Zombie Ghost Pirate!), boarding his ship beneath swirling purple 'n orange clouds to rescue a very cross and very flatteringly ab'd statue of Elaine. LeChuck has a cutlass, the high ground, and a beard of hellfire. Guybrush, a diamond ring (let's be honest, it's probably cubic zirconium at best). Love conquers all.
Also, CMI's box boasts of "humour decapitant". I'm pretty sure The Dig's doesn't, no matter which language you translate it to.
CMI all the way for me, and I'm giving out bottomless mugs of lemonade to anyone who changes their vote.

It was a film idea created and owned by Spielberg. LucasArts bought the rights to make the game from it. No idea were the book that came afterwards falls in this story...
I have to go with Monkey Island.
The Dig is nice, but it looks a little generic. If I didn't know anything about either game and just saw the boxes on the self, Monkey would say to me "fun, whimsy, adventure, humor, fantasy" while Dig would say "generic story about something mysterious being dug up"

lol
..even without the offer, you almost have me at the point of changing my mind. Now I have to consider the perpetual financial burden of my lemonade addiction sticking with The Dig.
I mean, part of me wants to say CoMI for nostalgic reasons, but simply based on cover design I'm gonna go with The Dig as well.
