I'm really enjoying Cairn. Anyone else playing yet?

Essentially, your goal is to climb a mountain and live to tell the tale. And I've got to say, it's pretty engaging...

There's such a neat sense of progression to the game, too - planning your route, overcoming the obstacles and setting up camp to eat/sleep/repair equipment. It's also fun to stumble upon the little stories scattered about from previous climbing attempts as well as the native people who called the place home.

Gameplay wise, it feels a bit like Jusant (which I also loved), except more realistic and challenging - with resource management and the like.

Here's the Steam link if it sounds like your kind of thing!

I've only heard that the controls are supposed to be very imprecise, mainly because you have to move all four limbs individually.
I probably won't buy it

I played a demo of that last year, it was fun for a while but I don't think I could manage a whole game like that. Physics were also a bit off back then, with the limbs twisting and turning in impossible ways. Perhaps that has been improved upon. It was marketed as a narrative game, indeed with those little stories you can discover, but to me it still felt more like a simulator. If I was a more patient man, I'd probably play it, though. Even though I'm afraid of heights, lol! It truly has the potential to be engaging.

The strange physics absolutely exist in the finished game as well, alas.

I had to put this game aside for a bit.

It was getting on my nerves, so I decided to save it for when I'm in a more patient mood. There's lots to like, though. Big Grin
